Why wsup-ai.com uses an age gate on entry, how the localStorage-based verification works, and how to reset it. Effective October 6, 2026.
Why the gate exists
wsup-ai.com is an independent editorial resource covering Wsup AI, an adult-oriented AI character chat platform that hosts explicit content on its Unfiltered setting and requires an 18+ account. Coverage here describes and discusses that adult material in an editorial context. The age gate is a self-certification barrier that keeps the site clearly marked as adult content and gives readers who arrive by mistake a chance to leave before adult topics appear on the page.
How the gate behaves
On your first visit to any editorial page, a full-screen modal appears with two options: confirm you are 18 or older and enter, or decline and leave. Choosing "Enter" writes a single boolean flag, wsup_age_ok = 1, to your browser's localStorage. Every subsequent visit from the same browser reads that flag and skips the modal. Choosing "Leave" sends you to google.com and does not write the flag.
How to reset the gate
The flag lives on your browser only. Reset it by clearing site data for wsup-ai.com in your browser settings, opening the site in a private or incognito window, or visiting from a different browser or device. Nothing is transmitted to a server, so clearing your local data is sufficient to remove the record entirely.
What the gate does not do
It does not verify your identity, your age, your jurisdiction, or your right to access adult content where you are. It is a self-certification tool. If you confirm you are 18 or older and you are not, that responsibility rests with you and, where relevant, with the person who allowed you access to the device. Parental control software (Google Family Link, Apple Screen Time, Microsoft Family Safety) is the correct tool for enforcing age restrictions at the household level.
Jurisdictional note
Age of majority varies. Some jurisdictions set the age of adulthood higher than 18, and some further restrict access to adult-oriented editorial content. On entry you certify that you meet the higher of 18 or the age of majority where you are, and that adult editorial material is legal for you to access. If it is not, close the site.
Where the gate is not shown
The age gate applies to editorial pages that discuss the Wsup AI product and its adult features. It is not applied to this age verification page, to a 404 error page, or to the legal pages linked from the modal, so that the modal's own links stay reachable when you decline to enter.

Different gates. Wsup AI enforces its own 18+ requirement at the account level and shows its own warning banner on the Unfiltered setting.
